The Yukimura family was the most powerful demon clan in eastern Japan. Their village was located in Mutsu, Shirakawa. Following the Demon Code, the Yukimura clan was pacifistic, not involving themselves in human affairs. The clan was destroyed by some humans affiliated with the Bakufu after they refused to intervene on their behalf in the latest war. Only three people survived the massacre: Chizuru, Kaoru, and Koudou.
Story
Chizuru does not know anything about Yukimura's legacy, she is afraid of using her family's kodachi even though she always carries it with her. In the beginning of the story, she gets in trouble due to rogue samurai willing to take away her family's sword. Without knowing its worth, she protects it with her life and later meets the Shinsengumi.
Chizuru has been brought up by Koudou and so she believes him to be her father. As it is revealed in the games, he is actually her distant relative from the same clan.
The name Yukimura ignites interest in other demons right away, the same way it did with Senhime and Kazama when they first heard it. Sen kept trying to protect Chizuru while Kazama was after her to create powerful offspring since both the Yukimura clan and Kazama clan are pureblooded.
Later in the story, Koudou claims that he has been creating Rasetsu to restore the Yukimura family, however, his real motives vary. Kaoru, who helps him, claims to hate Chizuru and has an obsession with making her remember their past. According to Kaoru, he was always mistreated in the Yukimura family due to not being a female.
In the movie and Sannan's game route, it is revealed that Koudou actually instigated the humans to attack the village so he can take Chizuru for himself due to her being the pureblood female demon of the Yukimura family. While Chizuru is adopted by Koudou and raised as a human without remembering her past, Kaoru was adopted by the Nagumo clan and eventually became their heir. By the end of the game, Chizuru becomes the only living member of Yukimura clan as Koudou and Kaoru are killed in all routes.
